What is the project?

Gladstone Regional Council is undertaking a flood study of the Deepwater Creek catchment, along with a survey of the creek bed (called a bathymetric survey).

These studies aim to improve Council's understanding of local flood hazards and provide essential flood mapping and risk information for the Deepwater community - an area that has not previously been studied in detail.

The outcomes of these studies conducted by specialist consultants, will inform updates to the Flood Hazard Overlay within the Gladstone Region Planning Scheme (Our Place Our Plan), ensuring future development is appropriately managed.
