The Gladstone Region Economic Transition Roadmap one year on

16 November 2023

Today marks one year on since Gladstone Regional Council launched the 10-year Economic Transition Roadmap to support and guide the region in becoming a renewable energy superpower.

Celebrating one year on of the Economic Transition Roadmap.

The detailed plan was well received locally, nationally and internationally and has placed the Gladstone Region in a prime position to respond to once-in-a-generation changes in the energy sector and achieve a positive economic transition.

Alongside community and stakeholders, Council is working through actions identified across the six key themes:

  • Energy security and affordability
  • Establishing a viable hydrogen industry
  • Diversifying the economy
  • Supporting and developing the local workforce
  • Capturing the community benefits
  • Protecting land and water resources.

The first year has seen considerable progress and Council remains committed to continued action, advocacy and to leading the way for our community.
