2025 Gladstone Region Australia Day Awards

Recognise our local heroes by nominating them for a 2025 Gladstone Region Australia Day Award!

Locally, Gladstone Regional Council hosts Australia Day Awards ceremonies to acknowledge and award members of the community who have celebrated success or gone above and beyond for our communities.

Anyone can be nominated for an award - with refreshed categories and easy to follow eligibility criteria, our everyday heroes and quiet achievers’ contributions will be recognised and celebrated.

before completing your nomination to ensure you are nominating in the most appropriate category.

How to nominate:

It is easy, and anyone can nominate an individual, community group or event for an award. Before starting the nomination, you will need the following;

  • Nominees name and contact details
  • A brief explanation of why you are nominating (we recommend no more than 300 words) which includes the following:
    • Examples of their positive contribution to the Gladstone Region.
    • Specific examples of their positive contribution to their chosen area/s or role/s and its broader impact.
    • The dates of service/period of time (if known).
    • All information will be treated confidentially.


The winners will be announced at Gladstone Regional Council’s Gladstone Region Australia Day Awards ceremony at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on Saturday, 25 January 2025.  5pm- 8.30pm.

Award Categories

This award recognises an individual for their outstanding contribution and/or achievement to the Gladstone Region community during the preceding year. The winner of this award will be an Australian Citizen who lives in the Gladstone Region. Community contributions and achievements may be in any area of community life, including sport and recreation, arts, events and culture, and environment and sustainability.

This award recognises an individual aged 15-25 for their outstanding achievement and/or contribution to the Gladstone Region during the preceding year. The winner of this award will be an Australian Citizen who lives in the Gladstone Region. Community contributions and achievement may be in any area of community life, including sport and recreation, arts, events and culture, and environment and sustainability.
