What is this major amendment?

Following the completion of the five year review of the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), Council resolved at its 7 March 2023 General Meeting to amend the LGIP contained within the Our Place Our Plan Gladstone Regional Council Planning Scheme Version 2.

The LGIP is a vital planning tool used to identify and coordinate the delivery of trunk infrastructure required to support projected urban growth over the next 10–15 years. While integrated within the Planning Scheme, the LGIP operates as a distinct component to ensure infrastructure is provided efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with land-use planning and long-term financial strategies.

The amendment will incorporate updates to the population and employment projections, revise trunk infrastructure planning and align with recent modelling and strategic frameworks to ensure infrastructure delivery remains efficient, transparent and responsive to future development needs.
