Gladstone Regional Council has released a draft Coastal Hazards Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) for management of the region’s coastline, after a year long community engagement process.
The draft strategy, which is now open for public comment (below), was developed in consultation with environmental, industry and community stakeholders and has been tailored to include the full coastal landscape and their communities.
Once finalised, the CHAS will be reviewed every five to 10 years as new information becomes available.
Everyone in the community has a role to play in implementing the strategy and in protecting coastal assets and values. The draft strategy is available on the right to be reviewed until 31 January 2021. The survey for feedback can be found below, or through the individual location datasheets.
