Red Shoe Project

Gladstone Regional Council (GRC), the Gladstone Neighbourhood Centre, and Gladstone Women’s Health Centre are collaborating to deliver The Red Shoe Project during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 – December 10), raising awareness and calling for action to end violence against women and girls

The Red Shoe Project is a powerful visual art installation that honours women and girls who have lost their lives to gender-based violence. Each pair of red shoes represents a life taken too soon. A mother, daughter, sister, friend.

Be apart of the movement:

We are seeking donations of shoes of any kind, red shoes are ideal, but if you don't have red that’s totally fine, we will be hosting a series of workshops to paint them red.

Where to donate:

Shoes can be donated from 25 August - 14 October at the below locations across the Gladstone Region:

- Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct - 1 Pengelly Street, Gladstone (Green Ngalill building)

- Gladstone Women's Health - 65 Central Lane, Gladstone

Join our Red Shoe Workshops:

We will be hosting a series of workshops at the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct to prepare and paint the shoes red ready for install.

Every pair will become part of a striking visual art installation to honour the lives of women lost to gender-based violence.

This is more than just an art display. It’s a global movement, and a call to action. Together, we can raise awareness, spark conversation, and advocate for change.
