14 June 2021

Upgrades and replacement of playground equipment at various parks is currently underway funded by the Queensland Government’s 2020/21 COVID Works for Queensland Program.

Work has been completed at Turkey Beach Park and the Old Basketball Court (Area 1) at Bunting Park.

Close to completion are upgrade works at Memorial Park and the Bunting Park – Corocord Net Area & Basket Swing (Area 2) replacement.

Work is occurring at Goonananga Park and is scheduled to start soon at Air Sea Rescue Park, Toonee Park and Frank and Francie Hart Park.

Air Sea Rescue Park playground replacement will occur in two stages with works from 14 to 21 June to install climbing apparatus featuring a ship design and a separate rocker.

Stage 2 works will be undertaken in the 2021/22 financial year and will involve expansion of the playground area to allow for installation of a bird’s nest swing.

Council looks forward to delivering new and challenging playground elements suited to a range of ages.
