The reason angled parking was developed was to formalise the one-way nature of Jeffery Court by narrowing the traffic lane and also allowing for a footpath to connect to Tom Jeffery Park.

On Jeffery Court:

Option 1 & 2 would result in 3 trees being removed.

On Agnes St:

Option 1 would result in approximately 10 trees being removed and option 3 would result in 2 trees being removed.

All options for Agnes St allow for a vegetation barrier to mitigate light and noise reduction. Shields on the proposed street lights will also be installed to minimise any light leaving the carpark.

Council will display “No Camping” Signs at the locality and work with local law enforcement to improve compliance. Residents are encouraged to contact Council if they have concerns regarding any local laws.

Yes, the bus zone will remain.

Council could look into the possibility of using the bus zone during the time outside the bus scheduled, for the community to use the bus zone as a ‘drop off zone’.

Council are placing a water filtration system underground of the Agnes St carpark.

This is something that can be investigated in design but consideration needs to be given to where the water will go to once it is filtered through the ground.

The flood modelling report is available on the Council website through the ‘Development Application Tracking’. This flood model will need to be amended based off the new design as a result of the DA Public Notification and Community Engagement efforts. This amended report will also be available through the Development Application Tracking once it is lodged with Council.

In option 1 of Agnes St, there is a possibility for long vehicles to be able to park. However there are no other carparks available within proximity to the Agnes Water Beach.

There is already an existing shared space at Tom Jeffery Park Carpark, however this space could be extended slightly down the road but would not be completed as a part of this project.

Council will endeavour to place more signage around the Jeffery Court, especially to help indicate the ‘One way’ street but this will not be completed as a part of this project.

Recently the caravan park received the approval from Council to build another entrance on Springs Road.

The carpark construction must be completed by June 2021

Council has received many Customer Service Requests (CSRs) over the years from community members, as well as feedback from tourists.

This is outside of the scope of this project.

There is no biodiversity layer mapped by the state government on this parcel of land so there is no requirement within the DA to apply for any environmental approvals.

This tree will not be effected at all during the construction of the carparks.

Our Environmental and Conservation Officers have attended the site and efforts will be made during construction to minimise environmental impacts. As there is no biodiversity layer on the site there is no requirement for environmental studies or approvals.

Angeled Parking - 5.40mx 2.0m

Parallel Parking - 5.30m x2.5m

Agnes St:

5.40m x 2.70m

The project is currently awaiting development approval through Council. It is anticipated that construction will begin by September 2020.

The carpark will be partially completed by the school holidays and open for use over this time.

The project will be complete by June 2021 as per Council's funding agreements through the Works For Queensland and Transport & Tourism Connections funds through the Queensland Government.

Yes, to minimise any environmental impact, Council has incorporated many environmental initiatives into the design of the carpark. Some of these include:

• Low glow solar lighting to reduce potential effects on turtles and other fauna
• Water sensitive designed devices to reduce stormwater runoff, improve stormwater quality and prolong landscape life
• Native landscaping to encourage native fauna and retain the natural aesthetic of the area.

For every tree removed during these works, at least two new trees will be planted on site.
