What is Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness?

Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) is a process for people with disability to create a plan for their needs in emergencies.

P-CEP can also help people who are ageing at home, have a mental illness, a chronic health concern or, other support needs.

P-CEP was co-designed by people with disability, carers, community organisations, emergency services and researchers.

This work is led by Associate Professor Michelle Villeneuve from The University of Sydney (learn more at collaborating4inclusion.org).

Gladstone Regional Council is pleased to collaborate with Michelle and The University of Sydney to bring P-CEP to the Gladstone Region and continue this research.

DO YOU NEED SUPPORT TO PLAN FOR AN EMERGENCY?

Talk to your support service provider about accessing assistance to complete a plan.

Community service providers throughout the region are being trained in how to guide people through a P-CEP planning conversation.

Gladstone Regional Council will be hosting P-CEP sessions. Please see our available session times and dates.
