What is the project?

Council has developed an Amendment Roadmap which outlines multiple projects which will take place over the next three years to update the Gladstone Region Planning Scheme.

The Roadmap strategically plans work on future amendments which reflects recommendations made in our Ten Year Planning Scheme Review (completed in 2024) alongside community and Council priorities.

The Planning Scheme Amendment Roadmap 2026-29 is the first in an ongoing series of programs which moves Council to a position of continual review to ensure our Planning Scheme is fit-for-purpose.

What is the latest update?

At the 7 April 2026 General Meeting, council adopted its three-year Planning Scheme Amendment Roadmap, which sets the direction for future amendments.

Thank you to all the community members who shared their valuable feedback and help to guide our continual review of our Planning Scheme.

Regular updates will continue to be provided on each individual amendment project via Council's Development Bulletin and the Planning Scheme Amendment Hub.
