Council adopts three-year Amendment Roadmap

At the 7 April 2026 General Meeting, Council adopted its three-year Planning Scheme Amendment Roadmap, which sets the direction for future amendments.

A draft Roadmap was developed by Council's Development Services team based on recommendations in Council's 2024 10 Year Planning Scheme Review Report.

The draft was further influenced by community input during a community engagement period between January-March 2026.

Timeline showing when each of the upcoming planning scheme amendments will be taking place

Following consideration of community submissions, the following changes were made:

  • Major Amendment - Bushfire has been moved forward to December 2025-26
  • Major Amendment - Coastal has been moved back to June 2026-27
  • Major Amendment - Planning Scheme Policies has been removed and integrated with amendments to associated codes.
